Terence J. Murphy is the Cheif Operating Officer for Leonardo DRS. Mr. Murphy joined the company in 2001 and has held a variety of positions within DRS prior to becoming Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Murphy has more than 25 years of experience in the aerospace and defense industry with diverse experience in direct P&L and operational responsibility, general management, product development, program management and product design.
Most recently, Mr. Murphy served as President of the DRS Network and Imaging Systems (NIS) Group focused on the convergence of network, computing and imaging systems for military and commercial markets. Prior to that position within DRS, Mr. Murphy served in multiple executive roles of increasing responsibility including President of the Reconnaissance, Surveillance and Target Acquisition (RSTA) Group, Vice President and General Manager of the Infrared Technologies Division and Vice President of Technical Operations for the RSTA business unit. Prior to joining DRS, Mr. Murphy worked for Texas Instruments and Motorola in a variety of management and product design positions.
Mr. Murphy served four years in the U.S. Navy, where he was an instructor at the Naval Nuclear Power School. He earned both a B.S.E in Electrical Engineering and a M.S. in Mathematical Science from the University of Central Florida, as well as an M.S.E.E. from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
