Horizontal Fields of View

This FOV Viewer tool provides an easy way to compare different Horizontal Fields of View (HFOV) for a given distance for both our 640x480 and 320x240 resolution thermal cameras. Select the appropriate Resolution, Distance, and Image Enhancement type including Leonardo DRS’ proprietary Image Contrast Enhancement (ICE) or standard AGC. Use the “+” and “-“ buttons to click through the resulting set of infrared images.

Pixel data for the object height and width is derived from the DRS Infrared FOV Calculator which utilizes proprietary calculations. These calculations and the resulting data may differ from other algorithms. Range data is based on NVTHERM 2009. Modeled inputs include actual detector NETD (≤30mK), Lens (EFL, MTF, f/#, Transmission), 2° delta T (target vs. background), and atmospheric transmission 90% @ 1km.
