ARLINGTON, VA, May 1, 2015 -- As the defense industry enters a new era defined by rapid globalization, DRS and other U.S.-based companies within the industry must adapt to the rapid change surrounding us.  That has been a key message CEO Bill Lynn has been preaching to industry and government leaders in recent months.

It is an important message in this era of change for the defense industry and his message continues to reverberate from the halls of the Pentagon to the halls of defense contractors across this country.  Lynn was recently invited to deliver his message at one of the world’s preeminent international policy institutions focused on defense and security, the Washington, DC-based think tank, the Center for Strategic and International Studies, where he also participated in a panel discussion based on this message.

Lynn joined the Defense-Industrial Initiatives Group at the think tank for the discussion.  The program was titled, “The Next Generation Dialogue on Industry and Defense,” and was designed to reinvigorate the dialogue between the Department of Defense and industry on significant shifts underway in the defense sector.

The event was a first in a series of discussions bringing together industry leaders, government stakeholders, and outside experts. This event focused on ways to find the right balance between protecting national security, accommodating industry's increasingly global reality, and preserving an open investment climate.

Lynn started the event with his presentation on globalization and the changes coming to the defense industry.  You can see the presentation and the panel discussion and read Bill’s article on the same subject in Foreign Affairs Magazine.
