Presentation Title
9:30am Open Registration & Equipment Demo Room Open
10:15am 11:00am The Essential Radio Dynamic Range Specifications Bob Watson, Senior Technical Director Systems Engineering A presentation of the specifications necessary to determine if a radio can perform effectively in the intended environment. Included are the rationale, standard test procedures, and example test data.
11:15am 12:00pm Challenging RF Environments Demand Additional Tools in the Toolbox Lou Orsini, Senior Director Engineering Congested and contested RF environments, longer stand-off distances, wider signal bandwidths, higher operating frequencies, and converged functions provide a host of challenges for EW equipment developers and users. This presentation discusses the technology investments Leonardo DRS is making to address near and medium-term products that support the challenging environment confronting users.
12:00pm   Complementary Buffet Lunch
2:00pm 2:45pm How Leonardo DRS conforms to the ever-changing standards bodies (SOSA/CMOSS/VITA) Steve DeVore, Principal Electrical Engineer What is the current state of these standards bodies? Where are they going next? This presentation will provide a jump start for system designers looking to incorporate the latest standards for COTS tuners, and how Leonardo DRS is playing an active role in their participation & execution within our product development.
3:00pm 3:45pm Radar ESM using AI/ML in Small Form Factor SDR Tom Gorsuch, Director Business Development Radio and antenna technology has advanced to the point that comms and radar signals can both be received from the same low Size, Weight and Power, Software Defined Radio. Next generation SDRs can now also include GPGPU accelerators for AI/ML signal processing which has proven to be effective for comms signals recognition. Combining these wide frequency range SDRs and emerging AI/ML techniques with a focus on radar signals opens the opportunity for radar target identification and geolocation at the tactical edge. This presentation will explore the state of the art in low SWaP, cognizant collection radios applied simultaneously to comms and radar signals.
4:00pm 6:00pm Cocktail Reception with Hors d'oeuvres
