Arlington, Virginia, Va. – September 6, 2022 – Leonardo DRS, a leading provider of advanced multi-domain defense products, will participate in the 2022 International Defence Industry Exhibition (MSPO)  between September 6th and 9th at the Targi Kielce Center in Kielce, Poland. The company will highlight a range of technologies, including its battle management, electronic warfare systems, and mounted EO/IR products among a range of other products.

The Leonardo DRS booth will be located in Booth #F 11.

“As a leading provider of advanced technologies to the U.S. military, we design our capabilities to enable both U.S. forces and our allies around the world,” said Mike Coulter, President of International Programs for Leonardo DRS. “We are excited to display our advanced technologies at MSPO and demonstrate why our technologies are capable of keeping warfighters mission ready, globally.”

Leonardo DRS Capabilities on Display:

Battle Management Systems – The new battle management system represents the most advanced generation of rugged computers and displays engineered for military use. It is a next-generation system for network modernization, a common computing solution that improves Situational Awareness, Command and Control, maneuverability, and logistics for a range of platforms and weapons systems.

Electronic Warfare – Leonardo DRS EW solutions include networked intelligence system called BlackLab a radio frequency sensor for intelligence, cyber, and EW operations. It covers the spectrum from 2 Mhz to 18 GHz. It does direction finding and Time Difference Of Arrival (TDOA) geolocation, and has a full suite of applications detection, identification, and prosecution of signals.

Our hardware is aligned with the warfighter’s requirements for low size, weight and power (SWaP) without sacrificing high performance. The low SWaP form factors allow for multi-function EW capabilities where the equipment can be integrated into cross-domain platforms.

Mounted EO/IR – The Leonardo DRS ABRAMS DRIVER’S VISION ENHANCER (DVE-A) improves situational awareness in visually degraded conditions provides critical force protection, continued mission prosecution and operational effectiveness. The DVE-A was developed specifically for the Abrams Main Battle Tank allowing for the driver to egress safely by using the quick disconnect bracket assembly. Combat proven and fielded in over 2000 US Army Abrams Main Battle Tanks to date, the DVE-A offers the latest in long wave thermal imaging capabilities.

Joint Assault Bridge – The Joint Assault Bridge (JAB) provides Mobility Augmentation Companies supporting Armored Brigade Combat Teams with a survivable, deployable and sustainable heavy-assault-bridging capability. The JAB provides gap-crossing capability to cross wet or dry gaps, and freedom of maneuver on the battlefield to keep pace with Abrams Heavy Brigade Combat Team operations. The JAB is an M1A1 Abrams tank hull with heavy (M1A2) suspension integrated with a hydraulic bridge launcher system to launch the existing Military Load Class 85 Armored Vehicle Launched Bridge (AVLB). The JAB improves force readiness, survivability, mobility and agility equal to the legacy force.

Data Distribution Unit – ExpandableThe DDUx II is a highly integrated and extremely rugged computing Server incorporating Intel’s Core i7 processor technology, as well as removable 2.5” solid state hard drives and an extensive array of external interfaces.  The system is ideally suited to meet computing, networking/routing, sensor integration, and video processing needs in mobile and harsh environments where reliability is critical. The architecture simultaneously supports hosting of applications, management of network infrastructures, collection and streaming of sensor data. The DDUx II can operate multiple operating systems and virtual machines concurrently to support diverse application and data distribution requirements.
