John Baylouny is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Leonardo DRS, Inc., a leading defense technology provider serving the U.S. military and allied nations. With more than 35 years of aerospace & defense industry experience, including over 15 years in executive leaderships roles, Baylouny brings deep operational expertise, technological vision, and a legacy of strategic leadership to his new role, effective January 1, 2026.
Baylouny has served as Chief Operating Officer of Leonardo DRS since 2018, where he led enterprise-wide operational excellence initiatives to enhance customer value, streamline operations and align the company’s advanced capabilities with evolving defense priorities. His leadership helped position Leonardo DRS at the forefront of key markets including advanced sensing, network computing, force protection, and electric power and propulsion systems. Prior to this, he held several key leadership roles, including Corporate Chief Technology Officer, General Manager of the Land Systems business unit and General Manager of the Advanced ISR business unit. Additional technical and managerial assignments as C4ISR Group Technology Officer, site general management, and Vice President of Engineering for the Electro-Optical and Infrared Systems Group round out Baylouny’ s diverse and extensive career experiences in direct P&L and operational responsibility, general management, product development, program management and product design across the Leonardo DRS portfolio of companies and technologies.
He holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
Beyond his corporate achievements, Baylouny is deeply committed to community engagement, particularly in the areas of STEM education and professional mentorship. He actively supports initiatives that support our veterans and their families, including Board Membership of the Marshall Legacy Institute and corporate executive sponsorship for Homes for Our Troops.
