William “Bill” Guyan is the Senior Vice President, Business Development and President, International Business.
Previous to this role, Guyan served as Senior Vice President and General Manager for the Land Electronics line of business which is comprised of sites in Huntsville, Alabama and Melbourne, Florida. Prior to this appointment, he held several positions at Leonardo DRS including Corporate Vice President of Business Development, Vice President of Strategy & Business Development for the Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance
(C4ISR) Group, and Vice President of Programs & Strategy for DRS Tactical Systems.
Guyan has more than 30 years of defence industry experience in business management and strategy. Prior to joining Leonardo DRS in 2002, he has held several domestic and international business development leadership assignments, including: Senior International Business Development Manager, Lockheed Martin Information Systems – UK in Hertford, England; and, Senior Business Development Manager, Training Systems at Loral Electro-Optical Systems, in Pomona, California. Bill’s programs & systems experience cover C4ISR systems, live, virtual and constructive simulations, combat training centers (CTCs), combat vehicle electronics, EO/IR systems & battle management systems (BMS). Bill’s international business cooperation experience includes the United Kingdom, Australia, Norway, Czech Republic, Romania, Poland, Netherlands, Turkey, Israel, Taiwan, Republic of Korea, India, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia.
Guyan graduated from University of Arizona as Distinguished Military Graduate with a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) in Political Science. He earned his Master of Business Administration Degree from The London Business School in London, England.
Guyan is a former US Army Armor Officer and combat veteran of Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm as an M1A1 Tank Platoon Leader. Other officer assignments include Scout Platoon Leader, Assistant S3/LNO, Aide-de-Camp to ADC-M and Assistant G3 Training Officer. He also served in Munich, Germany from 1984-1986 as a Military Intelligence enlisted soldier. His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, and the Silver Medallion of the Order of St. George.
Guyan is married to Cheryl, a Family Nurse Practitioner and wife of 38 years. They reside in Merritt Island, Florida and have two adult children.
