Leonardo DRS Sponsors “Click It To Stick It” To Breast Cancer At 2020 Virtual AUSA Symposium

October 14, 2020

ARLINGTON, VA, October 14, 2020  ̶  Leonardo DRS, Inc. announced today that it will partner again this year at the AUSA annual symposium with The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine, Inc. (HJF) to support active and retired military personnel and their families affected by breast cancer.

On Wednesday October 14, Leonardo DRS will host its Breast Cancer Awareness Day at the 2020 Association of the United States Army Virtual Symposium. The dual goals are raising awareness of breast cancer research and contributing $10,000 to support those who are undergoing treatment for breast cancer.

Online visitors to the Leonardo DRS Virtual Exhibit or its Virtual Tech Expo Series: Land Forces will be invited to “Click it to Stick it to Cancer” by placing digital post-it notes with the names of loved ones who have been affected by breast cancer on the company’s virtual “Wall of Heroes.” For each post-it note placed on the wall, Leonardo DRS will donate $5 to HJF, up to $10,000.

“We are proud once again this year to partner with The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine to support members of the armed forces who have been affected by breast cancer,” said William J. Lynn, CEO of Leonardo DRS. “Our servicewomen are the mothers, daughters and sisters of all America and they deserve our very best.”

“The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for Advancement of Military Medicine is a nonprofit organization perfectly positioned to act as a bridge between military medicine and private industry,” said HJF President and CEO Dr. Joseph Caravalho. “Our position enables the generous donations from Leonardo DRS to go directly to those who need it most. Treatment for breast cancer is stressful and challenging. The Look Good, Feel Better program seeks to mitigate the stress these individuals face, and with support from Leonardo DRS, it can help many more women.”

The donation will benefit the Look Good, Feel Better program that teaches beauty techniques to breast cancer patients and survivors to help them manage the appearance-related side effects of cancer treatment. The program includes lessons on skin and nail care, cosmetics, hair styling, and use of accessories to help servicewomen adjust to life after a breast cancer diagnosis.
