The Leonardo DRS 2 kVA AC UPS is designed to keep essential electronics running through power disturbances—delivering clean, tightly regulated 115 VAC power with robust overload and transient performance. With 2,000 VA / 1,800 W nominal output (and 2,000 W indefinitely), it provides dependable ride-through for critical systems where uptime matters.

Converts variable, shipboard “dirty” power into clean, conditioned energy, stored and delivered as guaranteed backup power to protect mission-critical naval systems and ensure operational continuity.

Fully MIL qualified to the Navy’s most severe UPS standard (MIL-DTL-24765B). This standard also includes the typical qualifications (901D shock, 461 EMI, 167-1A vibration).

Ruggedized for Harsh Environments

Designed for challenging operational conditions, the UPS is qualified across wide temperature and humidity ranges and built to withstand maritime and industrial environments. Environmental and compliance highlights include IP54 enclosure protection, and qualification to applicable MIL-STDs for EMI, shock, vibration, salt fog, and fungus.

Clean, Efficient Power With Strong Electrical Performance

Built for 115 VAC, 60 Hz shipboard-style input requirements, the UPS offers high efficiency (>90% at full load) and a high input power factor (>0.99 at full load) to minimize upstream loading. Output power quality is maintained with <5% THD (linear loads) and tight regulation (<±3% steady state; <±3% no-load to full-load)—helping protect sensitive equipment from sags, surges, and line disturbances.

Resilient Under Dynamic Loads

The UPS is engineered for demanding load profiles, supporting a 3.0 crest factor, 150% overload for 50 ms, and short-circuit capability of 200% for 2 seconds. For step-load changes, it limits transient deviation to 5% maximum with a typical recovery time of 16.7 ms—supporting stable operation during real-world load switching.

Built-in Visibility and Flexible Communications

An OLED display provides local status at a glance, while multiple interface options support integration into managed environments, including SNMPv3 (RJ45) and Modbus RS485, plus a remote alarm discrete connection for external annunciation.

Scalable Runtime With External Battery Support

For extended backup, the UPS supports an external battery module, Leonardo DRS part number 952-80-01, using valve-regulated lead acid (VRLA) chemistry. The battery unit includes four hot-swappable battery cassettes and provides 30 minutes at 1.5 kW, enabling maintenance and runtime scaling without taking protected loads offline.
