The Navy League’s SeaAirSpace Exposition was founded in 1965 as a means to bring the U.S. defense industrial base, private-sector U.S. companies and key military decision-makers from the sea services together for an annual innovative, educational, professional event located National Harbor, a major waterfront development located along the Potomac River just 20 minutes from Washington, D.C.

SeaAirSpace is now the largest maritime exposition in the U.S. and continues as an invaluable extension of the Navy League’s mission of maritime policy education and sea service support.

Leonardo DRS Next-Gen SHINCOM Shipboard Communication System

The Shipboard Integrated Communications System, or SHINCOM, is the latest generation shipboard communications switch technology which provides reliable, red/black secure tactical communications for Navy operators. The computer-controlled telephone system connects to a ship’s announcing system, shore telephone lines, radio communications and certain battle sound-powered telephone circuits. It also has programmable features ranging from assigning priorities to calls to recording communications in a manner compliant with marine safety standards.

IVCS and SVS communications (Interior Voice and Secure Voice Communications). Internal IVCS voice cabinets are physically separated forward and aft to survive battle damage. Voice terminals are throughout the ship including up the mast. Secure voice cabinet is installed close to CIC, where most of the secure terminals go.

Harrier is compact in a 1U half-rack form factor providing low size, weight, power and cost per channel. The unit is available in two or four channels, each directly digitizing the entire HF spectrum from 1 MHz to 30 MHz. Our Zonal UPS features N+1 redundant hot-swappable 2kVA power and battery modules, and manual and automatic bypass, ensuring continuous uninterrupted operation of the load. Nominally rated at 8kVA, 450VAC, 60Hz, 3 phase input / output, the capacity of the Zonal UPS has the potential to be increased or decreased in 2kVA increments.

Leonardo DRS designs and manufactures MV and LV hardened circuit breakers for both Leonardo DRS-designed and customer-designed switchboards and loadcenters, which are typically mil-spec rated. The components can also be QPL-tested. These trusted, affordable circuit breakers are included on LHA 6, LHA 8, LCS, FORD-class and T-AKE surface ships. They will also be installed on newer LPDs and DDG 51 FLT III ships.
