Tactical Combat Training System Increment II (TCTS II)

Leonardo DRS, as a principal subcontractor to teammate Collins Aerospace, supplies its next-generation tactical training system to the U.S. Navy called Tactical Combat Training System Increment (TCTS) II. This encrypted-approved tactical training system provides the first certified, Multiple Independent Levels of Security (MILS) training equipment packaged in both airborne and ground equipment, allowing for tethered and autonomous operations. MILS provides secure interoperability between combinations of 5th and 4th-generation aircraft, bringing significant training benefits to all participants in a simulated high-threat combat environment that has five times more network capacity than current air combat training systems. The system uses existing training range frequency spectrum to enhance live player training fidelity and increase the number of players participating in Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) training.

P5 Combat Training System (CTS)

Leonardo DRS, as principal subcontractor to teammate Cubic Global Defense, is the original equipment manufacturer and responsible for performance in all areas related to the P5 Combat Training System (CTS) airborne instrumentation subsystem. Including, real-time weapon simulation, a high-fidelity instrumentation data link, and onboard data recording to support post mission debriefing. The P5 CTS has set the standard for interoperable, joint, multiservice and coalition training with more than two million flight hours of service. Over 30 facilities and multiple air forces around the globe are now flying the P5 CTS, and a continuous block upgrade program ensures new technology is continually inserted into the P5 airborne and ground-based subsystems to keep combat capabilities on the cutting edge.

Joint Strike Fighter P5 Combat Training System (CTS) Internal Subsystem

Leonardo DRS, as principal subcontractor to teammate Cubic Global Defense, is responsible for the development, performance, and sustainment of the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) P5 Internal subsystem (IS). The system supports JSF-to-JSF training operations in addition to JSF-to-legacy P5 CTS dissimilar air combat training. The subsystem is composed of a P5 internal instrumentation package and a P5 planning software application within the JSF off-board mission support system.

The JSF P5 IS instrumentation package receives aircraft-provided weapon and position data to support real-time weapon simulations and real-time kill notification. The system outputs data for recording on the JSF pilot memory device to support post mission debriefing and receives pre-mission data files. The system also incorporates a type one encrypted data link operating in the L and S RF bands.

Legacy P5 CTS pods are interoperable with the JSF P5 IS and legacy P5 ranges have the ability to decrypt the JSF P5 IS data link messages providing a real-time ground monitoring capability.

Air-to-Air Range Infrastructure (AARI) System

The AARI system supports operational test and evaluation of the F-35 fighter aircraft and other U.S. front line fighters’ capabilities to shape the battle. The system is internally integrated within the F-35 and external pods carried on 4th generation fighter aircraft. It is used to determine the adequacy of F-35 open air flight test trials by supporting battle-shaping of air-to-air engagements through modeling weapon fly-outs and accounting for endgame effects to remove aircraft defeated by another aircraft or ground threat.

Multifunction Range Instrumentation System (MRIS)

The MRIS is an extremely capable and versatile test and training system fielded in Taiwan. This system provides coverage for the entire Taiwan peninsula providing airborne and ground instrumentation with real-time weapon simulations, a highly fidelity instrumentation data link, onboard data recording, and post mission debriefing.

Advanced Jet Trainer product

Advanced Jet Trainer

A comprehensive in-flight embedded training suite offering the whole spectrum of simulated training functions in flight and on the ground, while providing both students and instructors with advance on-board simulations. Simulations include a tactical scenario; presence of realistic computer-generated forces; on-board sensors; weapons; and live, virtual, constructive capability to link aircraft with flight simulators.

This suite can support stand alone or multi-ship networked operations, with aircraft and simulators networked via a dedicated training datalink to exchange tactical scenario data with other participants.
